This fall, #HonCC students will have another option to gather and study thanks to Glenn Young, Steven Fukuoka, Kenton Short, the Honolulu CC Construction Academy, and their students who recently donated hand-made benches and picnic tables to the Ka Māla o Niuhelewai program. The hand-crafted seating options will be left under the solar shade house where they could be utilized more efficiently. The solar share house offers outlets to charge devices – perfect for our students who are always on the go.
Being that the solar shade house is near the māla and the Keiki Hau’oli Children’s Center preschool classroom, this place will be designated as a quiet zone for people to have some quiet time, relax and enjoy the scenery of the māla. Due to the close proximity to the preschool (and upwind of the trades), this space is a no smoking area.
Mahalo again to the Construction Academy! Enjoy!
