Congratulations to the Honolulu CC Design Center and the Office of Communications & External Affairs for being recognized in the National Council for Marketing & Public Relations (NCMPR) District 6 Medallion Awards.

Honolulu CC received a Silver award in the Outdoor Media category for “Go Forward!” boulevard banners; a Bronze award in the Novelty Advertising category for “Press Me” Push Buttons for iPhones and iPads; and “Where Great Fashion Begins!” Print Ad Single that is in the current issue of FLUX Hawai’i Magazine.

“This is a first for the College.  We have entered pieces in years past and this was the first year we received recognition, and in three categories,” shares Billie Lueder, Director of Communications & External Affairs.  “Our team is constantly challenging ourselves to be more innovative, unique and memorable with the products we produce.”

The NCMPR District 6 Medallion Awards recognize outstanding achievement in communications at community and technical colleges in District 6. It’s the only regional competition of its kind that honors excellence exclusively among marketing and PR professionals at two-year colleges.

Forty-seven institutions from District 6 (Arizona, California, Hawai’i, Nevada, Utah, Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, Republic of Palau, Republic of the Marshall Islands and Territory of Guam) submitted 338 entries to the District’s annual Medallion competition, making this year the most competitive ever.

The National Council for Marketing & Public Relations is the only organization of its kind that exclusively represents marketing and public relations professionals at community and technical colleges.  NCMPR has more than 1,550 members from more than 650 colleges across the United States, Canada and other countries.
